Deposits sent by smart contract or batch withdrawal: why Bybit may not credit them

Guides · 2026-10-16

The block explorer shows your tokens arriving at your Bybit deposit address, with plenty of confirmations, yet your balance has not changed. One frequent reason is that the transfer did not come as a simple wallet-to-wallet transaction. Smart contract wallets, bridges, payment processors and some platforms that batch many withdrawals into one transaction move funds through a contract call. The tokens still reach your address, but the deposit system may not register them automatically. These cases can often be resolved, but they need specific information from you.

Recognising a contract-based transfer

Open the transaction on the block explorer for the network you used. A normal transfer shows a sender wallet sending tokens directly to your address. A contract-based one shows the transaction interacting with a contract, with your tokens appearing as an internal transaction or as one of several token transfers inside it. Batch withdrawals from some platforms show many recipients in the same transaction. If you see these patterns, the delay is probably not a problem with your address but with how the transfer was delivered.

Check Bybit's notes before sending

The deposit screen for some coins includes warnings, for example that deposits from smart contracts are not supported or may require manual crediting. Read these notes every time, since they differ by coin and network and can change. If you use a smart contract wallet, a multisig or a bridge, test with a small amount first and confirm it is credited before sending the rest. Where possible, send from a normal wallet address instead of directly from a contract.

Requesting crediting for a missing deposit

Look in the deposit section of the app for an option to report an uncredited or unrecognised deposit, which may handle these cases. If there is none or it does not apply, contact support through the in-app help centre. Provide the transaction hash, the network, the coin, the amount, your deposit address and a short note that the transfer was sent through a contract or batch transaction, naming the wallet or platform if known. Manual crediting may take time and may involve a fee described in the help centre.

Avoiding the problem next time

Keep a note of which wallets and platforms you have used successfully to deposit, and which caused delays. Before using a new route, send the smallest practical amount and wait for it to credit. If a platform you withdraw from mentions batching or contract-based withdrawals in its help pages, expect a possible delay. Ignore anyone who contacts you claiming they can release the deposit for a fee; only Bybit support can credit it.
