Fake “deposit help” messages targeting Bybit users: how to refuse them
Scammers message about stuck deposits and ask for screenshots, codes, or remote access. Use this Bybit-oriented refusal checklist.
Bybit | the reader's region | the reader's funding currency | deposits, networks and withdrawal controls
A pending deposit creates anxiety, and attackers know it. They watch public chains and groups, then message as “support” offering to unblock a Bybit credit. The script usually requests screenshots, authenticator codes, seed phrases, or remote-control apps. Real Bybit support works through official in-app channels and never needs your seed. This guide shows how to verify status yourself and how to shut down fake helpers without handing them leverage.
Check status only inside Bybit history first
Open Bybit deposit history for the asset and network you used. Note the status text and any transaction ID you already have from the sending wallet. Compare timing with what Bybit’s help centre describes for that network. Do this before replying to any stranger. Most “emergencies” shrink when you see a normal pending state.
Official support never needs remote control
Refuse any request to install screen-sharing tools, to read aloud SMS or authenticator codes, or to send funds to a “safety address.” Those asks are the scam. If you need help, open the support chat from inside the Bybit app and paste the hash and network details there. Keep passwords out of the ticket body.
Inspect the lure’s urgency and channel
Cold DMs on social apps, emails with misspelled domains, and countdown threats are classic packaging. Long-press links to preview destinations without opening them. Prefer opening Bybit from the home-screen icon. If a message references your exact deposit amount, remember that amounts can be seen on public explorers; knowledge of the amount is not proof of legitimacy.
If you already engaged, contain the account
Change your Bybit password from a trusted device, review devices and API keys, and check the withdrawal address book for additions you did not make. Contact official support with screenshots of the lure. Warn community chats if the scam is spreading. Do not send “verification” payments to release funds.
Prevention for the next deposit
Use test amounts, save hashes, and keep a private note of networks that worked for your assets. Reduce public discussion of pending deposits while they are in flight. Anxiety falls when your personal checklist is ready before you click send on the source wallet.
Risk boundary: Bybit Deposit Guide
Digital assets are volatile and derivatives can amplify losses. This website has no login, wallet connection, deposit form or customer-support chat. A referral link only records attribution; it does not guarantee access, pricing, rewards, approval or investment results. Availability can differ by residence, legal entity and product, so no regional access is assumed from language or branding alone.
Scenario checkpoint
- Verify deposit status in Bybit history before answering any stranger.
- Refuse remote-control apps, codes, seeds, and “safety address” transfers.
- Open support only from inside the Bybit app with hash and network details.
- After engagement with a lure, rotate password and audit devices and address books.
- Keep pending deposits quieter in public chats and rely on your private checklist.
